I am penning this cover letter to find suitable teaching with research position under the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the esteemed “Emirates College of Technology”. Presently working as an Associate Professor at DVR and Dr. HS MIC College of Technology, Vijayawada after getting selected through campus placement. For your kind information, I have successfully defended my PhD thesis entitled “Development of ultra-lightweight (Magnesium-Lithium) alloys: Their microstructure and texture dependence of mechanical properties” at the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli one of the top 10 Engineering Universities in India.
My doctoral research has been generously sponsored by India’s public research firm Aeronautical Research and Development Board (AR&DB). The core objective of the research is to develop competitive and functional ultra-lightweight alloys and composites for aerospace and automobile applications. The alloy was developed using potential alloying additions through liquid metallurgy route and to evaluate its structure-property relationship and has been met successfully.
Presently, I am handling the manufacturing related subjects as an associate professor. I am handling the subjects such as Production Technology and Metal Cutting both theory and laboratory. Meanwhile, carry out the research activities with the undergraduate students. One of the project works was recently published in the Materials Today Journal proceedings. As a Senior Research Fellow, during the tenure of the research at the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, we have demonstrated the signature performance through the fabrication of Magnesium-Lithium alloy using an indigenously developed furnace with the provision of adding lithium under the inert cover which has been fabricated by me together with my research supervisor. Through the self-designed furnace, we were able to achieve the most significant recuperation of lithium which has been par above the levels of reported values in the scholarly reports. Our sincere research efforts have been perceived and granted as the best paper award in two reputed International conferences. All experiences gained at every stage of the research have given me enormous practical knowledge and confidence to pursue a research career in the field of new alloy development.
Also, our knowledge in developing the furnace has been shared with various institutions across the country. Moreover, the furnace is currently operative in various premier institutions in our country using our working principle. During my stint at NIT Trichy, I was involved in educating undergraduate students, helping them understand the basics of various manufacturing methods through advanced teaching tools for the Material Science and Metallurgy students. Meanwhile, I have published my scientific results in reputed journals and many international conferences. Also, I spent every half of the semester at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (ranked no.1 Institute in India) for bulk texture and hot compression related studies. At this moment, I am highly motivated to continue my teaching and research activities in a highly recognised organisation. In this regard, I hope that the “Emirates College of Technology” would offer me a chance to work in a new and challenging environment to exhibit both my technical and practical skills at the international level.
