Assistant Professor Finance

House 30B1, Gul-e-Daman Society,, College Road

General Information

I hold a Ph.D. Degree in Law and Economics with a focus on banking and regulation (Law and Finance Major). My Ph.D. program was a joint doctorate of the University of Bologna, University of Hamburg, and Erasmus University Rotterdam. I also got the opportunity to visit the University of Pennsylvania as an Associate Visiting Scholar during my Ph.D. This exposure, during my Ph.D., provided me with the opportunity to work with different people that widened my horizon and approach. My Ph.D. research was mainly focused on the analysis of risks associated with securitization and covered bond markets in Europe and related regulations. My main research area is financial risk management. I respectfully submit this letter of application for the faculty position as I believe my experiences and commitment to teaching/research make me a well-qualified candidate to meet the needs of your dynamic programs.

As an Assistant Professor at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES) and visiting faculty member at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) Rawalpindi, PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi and SZABIST Islamabad, I gained valuable experience of teaching students in the field of Finance at all academic levels including Ph.D. In addition to classroom lectures, I have guided students on research and non-research-based projects. I also have the experience of working in administrative positions at the university level. Currently, I am working as cluster coordinator of Finance and responsible for reviewing and revising the courses curriculum of finance courses. I recently developed two new programs related to business analytics (MS Business Analytics and BS Business Analytics) at FAST School of Management, NUCES. The academic council of the university has approved both programs and they will be offered in Fall 2021. I am one of the custodians of these programs. I am currently leading the team that is working on the course contents of these programs, being offered in Fall 2021. I am also working as the Coordinator of MBA and MS Accounting and Finance Programs.

I have a firm dedication to the teaching profession. Rather than simply lecturing to a class, I strive to cultivate an interactive environment in which students can express themselves freely. I emphasize critical thinking and the need to consider different topics within their larger social, historical, and intellectual contexts. I feel that it is my responsibility to uphold the institution’s standards and values and encourage and challenge students to work up to their potential. I also have a strong passion for research. I have published in well-reputed journals. The list of my research work is available in the CV. I believe that my qualification, teaching, supervising and administrative experience, and research profile make a good fit for a faculty position.
