Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam is an Associate Professor of Finance at Universiti Utara Malaysia and an Associate Fellow at University Technology MARA, Malaysia. He is a certified Financial Planner and certified expert in Climate Adaptation Finance. He was awarded the AFFP Research Fellowship from FS-UNEP Centre, Germany. He obtained his PhD and Master’s degrees from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). Currently he has around 300 publications including 7 books and 150+ journal articles. He has received several awards from Elsevier, Emerald, Willy, Publons, UUM and UKM and he has also been recognized as one of the “Top Bangladesh Development Researchers of the Millennium” by the BDRC, USA. He has experience as an editorial board member of 10 international journals and a reviewer of 40+ journals. He has 3 years corporate experiences and 6 years teaching experiences at postgraduate and undergraduate levels with a 92%+ teaching evaluation scores that were assessed by 1,000+ students. He has supervised records of 6 PhD, 11 Masters and 7 Undergraduate theses/dissertations. He has involved in 5 consultancy projects and 30 research grant projects from Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Germany, Canada, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Bangladesh, where he was the project leader in 10. His research areas include financial markets, financial economics, Islamic finance and economics, sustainable finance, sustainable development, and ecological economics.
