General Information

With a diverse background in art, visual communication, and extensive experience in academia, I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to contribute to the vibrant academic community at Liwa College.

My doctoral research at the University of Newcastle, Australia, delved into the exploration of modern Emirati women’s identity and creative expression through photographic art. This research not only aligns closely with the global understanding of art but also underscores my commitment to exploring cultural perspectives in communication and media. Moreover, my tenure as an Academic Program Chair at the Higher Colleges of Technology has equipped me with the expertise to design innovative curriculum frameworks that integrate theory with practical applications, fostering a dynamic learning environment.

As an educator, I am deeply passionate about cultivating collaborative learning environments that nurture creativity and critical thinking. My pedagogical approach prioritizes student-centered learning, where interdisciplinary connections and real-world applications are emphasized. I firmly believe in the importance of diversity and inclusion in fostering a vibrant learning community.

In addition to my teaching experience, I have a proven track record of research and curriculum development. Leading the development of the Digital Media and Design program, I integrated industry-relevant skills with academic rigour, ensuring that students are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed in the field. My research interests in digital media, communication, and education align seamlessly with the objectives of the (Mass) Communication program at Liwa College, and I am eager to contribute to its continued growth and success.

I am particularly drawn to the collaborative opportunities at Liwa College, including engagement with local and regional institutions. My experience in industry projects and product development, combined with my academic background, uniquely positions me to bridge the gap between academia and industry, enriching both student experiences and community engagement.
